Moments of serenity

So i've decided that blogging is not as easy as i thought it would be, i think mostly because i've been so busy the last couple of months. Both with work and non-work stuff.
Now that i've had the chance to relax and just slow down for a bit a couple of things have come to mind which have impressed upon me.

While goals are important, the true joy in life comes from finding happiness in the simple things that happen day to day. I guess i say this because the last few months have been very unstable to say the least, things are never easy when one does not know whether they are coming and going, although taking comfort in the simple things that God provides for us each day is something that alot of people who are in similar situations tend to overlook. To be thankful for the nice things that people do, the lovely weather (although sydney has been rather odd of late) and a simple family meal are things that have really put things in perspective for me.

A quote from Alexander Smith i feel sums it up quite nicely "A man gazing at the stars is proverbially at the mercy of the puddles in the road"

Secondly that real friendship is something that should not be taken for granted, even though it most often is. I am really thankful that two people over the last couple of months have filled this role, you guys know who you are :)

until next time!

And so it begins...

So the time has finally come when i start to blog, it had to happen eventually, even though i held out so long. But just like facebook, and before that MSN, and even earlier than that, ICQ, i couldn't hold out forever. Given the multitude of random ponderings that flash through my mind on a daily basis, (anyone who knows me knows that these range from the deeply philosophical to the just plain absurd :)) blogging seems like a fitting way to document these for posterity along with the daily trials of being a humble Christian.

For those who have not yet been subject to these, feel free to enjoy!
